Chief Stephen D. Parsons

I enjoy serving people not only in which the city I  work but in which I live.  I have always considered myself a person who gets involved and tries to make  change.  I spend most of my spare time doing church related activities.  I serve  as a Deacon in my church and also work with the youth. I get great satisfaction  out of helping young adults and teenagers.  I have been the youth leader for 6 years and really enjoy it. I like to sing in the Church Choir and the First  Baptist Church Men's Quartet.

I also coach soccer for my younger daughters team  and am a member of my oldest daughters high school band boosters. In the remainder of my time I love spending time outdoors, mountain biking, hiking, hunting, fishing and camping. I got interested in the fire service as a volunteer in 1978 and decided not to long after to pursue it as a career.  I am  very thankful to be associated with the St. Albans Fire Department and enjoy all the different aspects of my job.  To me there can be no better job than to be of assistance to people in a time of need and have the opportunity to make a  difference in their lives through my efforts.
