Fires continue to take the lives of American Firefighters. It must be the policy of each fire
chief, as well as government officals at the local, state and federal levels to use whatever means necessary to prevent the loss of life that the fire service is experiencing. Through
proper leadership, mandatory safety policies and adequate funding, these deaths could be prevented. If one firefighter is lost in the line of duty, that’s one too many.
