Pre-Fire Planning
Pre-Fire Planning consist of visiting each and every business within the corporate limits twice annually to update building and owner
information. A comprehensive floor diagram is drawn or the curret one is updated.
This information is vital to Fire Department operations in the event of a fire or other emergency. All of the data gathered is stored according to its specified geographical area in manuals located on each Engine and on the laptop computer stored in the command post area of the Rescue Truck. Once in the spring and again in the fall, the men under the leadership of the Shift Captain, visit all 381 businesses and gather essential information. All of the information is also made available to the Police Department SWAT Team in the event of a Police Emergency.
